Dr. Steve Yoon's Memorial Fund

Dr. Steve Yoon was a podiatrist practicing in Garden Grove, La Palma and Long Beach, Calif. On Sunday, August 27, 2017, Dr. Steve Yoon was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a head-on collision that instantly killed both him and his mother. The irresponsible and reckless drunk driver who caused this senseless tragedy was driving on the wrong side of the freeway but was lucky enough to be rescued by good Samaritans and escaped with only minor injuries. Meanwhile, Dr. Steve Yoon and his mother were killed on impact with no chance for survival.

Dr. Yoon leaves behind a one-year old daughter and a wife who is expecting their second child in the coming weeks. His daughter will never see her father again and his unborn son will never have the chance to have met the caring and loving man he was. Unfortunately, he did not have life insurance before his untimely death. As such, his pregnant wife and children are facing a very difficult financial situation.

Dr. Steve Yoon was not just an outstanding doctor but also a great person. He didn’t deny patients due to their lack of ability to pay, and never once considered looking at the patient’s financial status or health insurance before treating them. He always put people, especially his family, friends, and patients, first above anything else. Many times, he forgave patients’ delinquent bills while taking special care in treating the elderly and homeless patients.

He also had a remarkable way of making patients and co-workers alike feel better simply by smiling and laughing with them. He always helped anyone who needed his assistance, and was known to be a generous and selfless person. If he called you friend as he did to so many, he would always be there to support you.

Dr. Yoon has helped so many in his life—so let’s return his kindness. Please consider helping his family by donating on this site: www.gofundme.com/steveyoonmemorial . Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and will help. If you’re not able to donate, please kindly share the link to others who may be able to help.

With your donation, we hope to help Mrs. Yoon, their daughter and unborn child face their upcoming financial challenges. Thank you.
