Steve's boys will THRIVE!

Steve was the most kind, caring, and happy person you could ever meet. He was an amazing dad, husband, son, brother, friend, and even stranger. Steve would help out friends and family whether he was asked to or not, and he would even help strangers. From a customer at Caribou (weeding her garden) to someone on the side of the road. He regularly stopped to help people, and would even show up late to wherever he was going as a result of it. Tragically, his selflessness lead to his untimely death, at only 37 years old. Steve stopped to help someone who had spun out in slippery, snowy conditions, and was killed by another car when it spun out.
Steve was focused on doing good, taking care of his family, and on God. He wanted to always be a better person tomorrow than he was today.
Steve wrote back in June of 2014:
I will fight my own laziness for Angie, the woman who loves me and believes in me to be the provider for our family. She trusts me to do what is right for the life we have built together.
I will fight my pride to be the hero Bradyn and Wesley see me as. I will be a good example of what it means to be a Godly man.
I will be courageous for my Lord and stand up for what I know is right. I will be a light for those around me. People will know by the way I live that I live for my family and my God.
I will use my work as a tool to make this happen. I will become a better person than I was yesterday for the sake of my family, my God, and all the people I can help along the way.
Today I will make myself into a better person than I was yesterday. Tonight I will fall asleep beter than the man I was yesterday.
Steve lived by those words, and he was a light for so many around him, and he helped so many along the way - people who had no idea he had ever written those words.
Steve would want nothing more than to know that his children will thrive and grow up having the opportunities they would have had if he had been there to provide for them. It is devastating enough for them to lose the single most important man in their life.
