Hi, my name is Steven,
Life hasn't dealt me the best cards but I’m a resilient person who refuses to accept this, which is why I've set up this go fund me page.
From the age of 11 I have been suffering with a rare progressive motor neuron disease called Friedriechs Ataxia and a multitude of side illnesses that come with it such as scoliosis, heart complications and most recently carpal tunnel. However, in these past few months, my condition has become progressively worse and has overwhelmed me as I face new struggles daily many people would find routine, as you can imagine this is demotivating. However, after being inspired by wheelchair athlete Nick Scott, I will "Never Give Up". So, every day for the last four years, twice a day I’ve been battling this affliction in the gym!
I have had people mock me, imitate me and try to put me down and this road hasn't been easy. I am looking to purchase a chair to suit my needs however the government will not fund it and I can't work. (I hate being told i can't do something) So I appeal to you to donate or at least share my page. By giving me mobility you are giving me dignity and independence, which will help me to Never Give Up.
I feel a specific manual wheelchair called the "RGK Tiga" http://www.rgklife.com/wheelchairs/daily-wheelchairs/rigid-lightweight-wheelchair.html and a little gadget for it called the "Batec Electric" http://batec-mobility.com/en/our-handbikes/models/batec-electric would be a tremendous help, it would benefit me in so many ways and help me manage my scoliosis and its affects which is one of the many health problems that accompany my condition that I mentioned earlier.
