LifeSaving Cancer Treatment For Dad

Donation protected

On December 25th 2016, my entire family spent Christmas together. It’s times like that when I am happiest. However, I began to worry about a pain that my dad was having in his lower abdomen, that seemed to be getting worse. On January 2nd, 2017, we found out that my dad had stage 3 colon cancer, and had to undergo emergency surgery to remove a mass from his colon.

Needless to say, this was shocking and sickening news. The surgery and recovery went well, and a scan in March did not show any signs of cancer. In spite of this, last week, we found out that the cancer had spread to his liver. It is now stage 4.

My dad has always been there for me. He has shown me unconditional love. He has always encouraged me to go after my dreams. He has sacrificed so much of himself to give me the opportunity to have a truly amazing life. He is always there to give me advice on any choices or problems I have ahead of me. He is the strongest man of faith that I know and he taught me in the way I should go. His unending supply of positivity and perseverance is something that I strive to one day possess. The thought of losing his guidance, friendship and encouragement is something I cannot bear to think about. My sisters and I love our dad more than we can put into words. This is why I am very humbly asking for your help.

The good news is that we know what to do next. We found a cancer center in southern California that can provide the treatment he needs. If he is able to get it, the outlook is very positive. The reason why I have created this campaign is that we have no idea how we’re going to pay for this treatment. It’s devastating to think that my dad might not get the treatment he needs because we simply can’t afford it. The lifesaving treatment is right there, we just desperately need some help to get it.

My dad was unable to work during his surgery and recovery. Since then he has been working as much as he can, however right now he is physically unable to continue. My sister and I have both been working nonstop and putting everything we have toward his medical costs. It has gotten us this far, but we are all just about out of resources.

We need help to cover the high medical expenses of my dad’s upcoming treatment, as well as housing, transportation and food while he is down in southern California.

We are truly grateful for anything you can do to help our dad. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this.

If you could share this page with anyone and everyone you know, it would be most appreciated.

Thank you,

Steven Koistinen Jr.
