Update -9/12 - as of right now we have raised almost $900. We had a church graciously donated for his memorial service, the only fees associated are having someone to work the sound system.

Update: Renette's house has been properly cleaned and sanitized. Also, between GOFUNDME and Cash App/Venmo we have raised a little over $500. Please continue sharing but most of all continue praying.

Mental Illness is Real

Early Saturday, September 6th, Renette not only received a call that no mother wants, she witnessed via FaceTime her son, Steven Carnes, take his life.

Steven never met a stranger. He lit up every room he walked into and ended every phone call with "I love you." He would give you the shirt off his back and sometimes even his prosthetic leg!!

No mother should ever have to bury their child, let alone watch him end his life.

Any extra money will go towards getting Renette's home professionally cleaned (as of right now it's considered a crime scene and she cannot enter), so that she can hopefully find some type of peace walking back in.
