Hey all!
We're starting a fundraiser for Steve Russell, who's been part of the Nine Melbourne family for more than 30 years, as a cameraman and link operator.
Since 2014 he's been bravely battling bowel cancer, and is now up to his fourth round of chemotherapy.
Whoever has had the luck of working with Steve knows he's a quiet, professional, positive person who never complains but has been going through a pretty tough fight.
As chemo drugs stop working after a while, doctors have recommended Steve undergo immunotherapy as well... an experimental treatment which could prove successful but isn't covered under the PBS.
That's where we come in!
Immunotherapy costs $6000 a treatment, and he needs 6 rounds of treatment.
If anyone feels like helping out, donations of any amount would be appreciated, and whatever we raise will be handed over to Steve at the GTV Craft Awards.
