Friends & Family of Steve Crane: About a year ago, Steve started experiencing TIA’s (transient ischemic attack), or mini-strokes, and experienced a full stroke last November. He began seeing a doctor in Fargo, a Neurologist who ran a series of tests to determine the cause. After an MRI and CT Scan they implanted a Loop Monitor in his heart to see if this would provide any answers, and it did not. The symptoms were not dissipating. Steve found himself back in the ER early June and more having more tests. The CT Scan found major issues with his carotid artery in his brain and showed severe blockage of the right carotid artery and almost full blockage of the left side of his brain. Steve was referred to the U of M Neurovascular Department. Just recently Steve underwent extra-cranial/intracranial bypass surgery. This is a complete bypass of the blocked portion of the carotid artery in his brain to restore full blood flow to the right side of his brain. Part 1 of the surgery was successful, however the recovery is a slow process. Part 2 in October will be another bypass surgery open the arteries in the other side of his brain. Steve does not have savings for an event like this. His financial situation is urgent. Steve's hasn't been able to run his business correctly due to the strokes and we all know the bills don't stop when something like this happens. Please help Steve with what you can he does not have health insurance.
