Inzamelingsactie voor een waterput

( See below for the English version)

Hello, my name is Mohamed Cisse, born in Guinea and at a young age I fled with my family to the Netherlands, in the hope of a better future. Now that I have lived in Europe for over 18 years, I can say that I am much better off than my former countrymen.

As a boy I had to walk for a very long time to provide the family with drinkable water. Now, 18 years later, I see that this situation has not changed much in my country. Young people, especially girls, still have to take on this absurd chore which prevents them from attending school. In addition to that, today's political turmoil is contributing to the increase of poverty and division among the population. Let us not even mention the consequences of the current pandemic.

Every day, I follow the news from Guinea and I notice how much sadness and anger is being stirred up within because of all the misery and hopelessness. After moments of self-reflection, I thought to myself, "OK, instead of getting upset about the events and instead of feeding the negative emotions of powerlessness, wouldn't it be better to consider what I can do for my countrymen?".  This is how I came up with the idea of providing them with a primary source of life.

The mission
The construction of a public well so that everyone, young and old, can have access to clean drinkable water at any time of the day. In order to do this, it is first necessary to drill a hole into the ground to a depth of 10m or more.
Then, by installing a water pump (hydrophore pump), ensure that the pressure remains on the water pipe.
My research has shown that this mission will cost EUR 3 000.

Transparency
I will personally ensure that the process is documented from start to finish so that our donors can see what has been achieved due to their support. This also mean that I will personally travel to Guinea to complete the mission.

Would you like to support a good cause with me? I am raising money for the people of Coyah, Guinea and your contribution will have an impact, whether you donate EUR 5 or EUR 500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. I have listed information about the people of Coyah, Guinea below.

Finally, I would like to mention that this project is supported by the Guinean Consulate in the Netherlands and the Milly Mamoudou Foundation in Coyah, Guinea. This foundation provides (temporary) financial support for the development of entrepreneurial (non-profit) initiatives in Guinea.
