Support the Sterk's!

I can't even do Dan and Kristin justice by trying to tell their story.  Their obedience to God's call in their life is like nothing you have ever heard before. I will put a link to her blog below so you can learn more about their incredible journey and their faithful obedience to the Lord's call on their life.  You WILL get chills reading this story on her blog! http://kristinsterk.com/about/

Doctors discovered a congenital heart issue in Kristin when she was 17.  It was the kind of heart issue that causes high school athletes to go into cardiac arrest while playing sports.  By the grace of God and to the benefit of the rest of the world, it was discovered before something serious happened.  It did however require Kristin to have open heart surgery while she was in high school.  Kristin healed and went on to life a fairly normal life.  I say fairly normal because there is nothing normal about the Sterk's.  She got married to her college sweetheart and had an amazing little girl, even though she was told for years her heart would never be able to handle giving birth.  The birth of Mazy Grace was truly a miracle and any one that knows Kristin knows she was born to be a mother.

Sixteen years later Dan and Kristin have discovered she is experiencing heart failure that will once again require surgery to replace valves in her heart.  On October 20 Kristin will go in to the University of Michigan to have surgery that will keep that big heart of hers ticking.  The surgery was originally scheduled for late November, but her heart has deteriorated to a point her doctor feels it best to push the surgery up.  It will be a demanding surgery, likely open heart,  and with it comes an equally demanding recovery time.  The surgery also comes with overwhelming medical bills, hotel costs, and post-surgery care. The last thing that should be on their mind during this time is finances and figuring out where the money will come from to fund these expenses.

I hesitate putting a dollar amount on our goal because I don't want to put a cap on the amount of money we can raise on their behalf.  The medical bills will not stop with the surgery and will likely continue into the foreseeable future with post-surgery care and future check-ups. If you feel  inclined,  join with me in helping them alleviate the stress of these medical bills.  I urge you to act quickly as the surgery will be happening soon and bills are already mounting . Let's let them focus on recovery, not on finances and get Kristin back to being the wife, mother, and servant of the Lord that she was born to be.
