Step Up For Karen

Karen is a hard working single mom who is always choosing to help others, giving in ways that go above and beyond. Despite her ongoning battle against metastatic cancer, she has continued to "pay it forward", committed to raising thousands of dollars each year so that our kids can enjoy the benefits of a strong music program at Petaluma High School. Throughout her ordeal she has maintained the most incredibly positive and upbeat attitude, an inspiration to us all.

Now our Karen is having to endure the passing of her youngest child Clara, a heartbreak that is beyond our depth of understanding and loss.

No fundraising campaign can address the kind of pain Karen and her family is experiencing. Unfortunately, her hardship and grief is complicated further by a concurrent financial crisis, creating a situation more challenging than anyone deserves to face alone. It is here that we might possibly give back to Karen, to lift that additional burden from her shoulders so that she can have the space and opportunity to mourn and heal in peace.
This is not Karen's idea to reach out for support, but rather it's from those who have witnessed her unconditional love and passion towards our community. It is time for Karen to receive our love and sense of giving in return.
