StepUp Youth Challenge for Traver Community

Traver School  is participating in Tulare County's StepUp Youth Challenge . Middle schools and high schools throughout the county look to their schools and communities to see what is a need in their community and create a community service project based on that need. Our group consists of 6th and 8th graders who have come together and see the need for warmth in our community. Due to Covid many of our families have lost their jobs and are in need of many things. After doing some brainstorming the group of 11 students came up with the idea of providing blankets to our families in Traver. Due to many of our families also not having heat in their homes we decided to provide a small heater along with a blanket to families. The community of Traver has a population of 732 people. Although we are very small, our students have a love for one another and our goal is to serve our community through this project.

Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
