On November 15, 2016 our mother was found unresponsive at her home suffering from a medical event that caused her to experience hypoxia to her brain. The lack of oxygen to her brain has left her without the ability to walk, talk and all of the day-to-day functions we take for granted.
The harsh reality is that this “medical event” was caused by an overdose on drugs. As many of us know addiction, depression and other mental health issues are not treated and it can be hard to find the right help. Our family, friends and maybe even you suffer every day with personal challenges with out knowing the proper tools and resources to get the help you deserve. Our mother is fighting every day to learn life all over again & Doctors cannot predict the final outcome of her recovery because there are many uncertainties associated with brain injury.
Before this tragic event our mother was bright, strong, bubbly and held a beautiful heart. She was always giving back and has raised money for others through Go Fund me. Our family has been discouraged many times through insurances and facilities and intense care for our mom will not be provided until she can meet certain qualifications by the state of MA like standing on her own or talking. At this time we are paying for private care, which is minimal due to the high cost.
We continue to provide love, support and the power of prayer in the hopes that our mother will have a full recovery. If you are able to contribute, the funds will go to Barbara’s journey on the way to a new life as we learn it with her every day. If you are not able to donate at this time, we ask with heavy heart that you please keep our family in your prayers.
