On 8/17/17 we lost Diane Pickett to the tragic home explosion in Shawano. She leaves behind a loving husband, children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters, and countless family members and friends. Diane was known for her infectious smile, loving attitude, and her deep desire to help people who were in need.
This passion led her to become a volunteer and board member for SAM25, a charity that operates a seasonal homeless shelter called SAM's house. Their mission statement: We help those affected by poverty improve their circumstances and become self-sufficient.
She was putting her effort into the Steps To Success program and was passionate in her efforts to end homelessness. The Steps to Success program guides individuals who are homeless to community resources and housing options so they can get back on their feet. All of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be put directly into this program, which will have a monumental effect on the charity and community. Jen Bisterfeldt is the beneficiary of this campaign as she is the Executive Director of SAM25 and will be putting these funds directly into the Steps to Success program.
I know that Diane would've wanted something good to come out of this tragic situation. If there is anything you can spare to help this cause it would be greatly appreciated. If you cannot spare money, the shelter is always looking for clothing, food, and other essentials. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
