My little brother, Stephen, is currently being treated at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, for complications from a July 10th surgery to remove a kidney which had bascially 'died'. He's hasn't been able to return to work since the July surgery as he encountered another complication to his right hip and basically lost mobility.
A little backstory on my brother: Stephen has conquered many life challenges none of us will ever face in our lifetime. At age 26, he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and underwent treatment. After being in remission for almost 11 years, he was diagnosed with bladder cancer and had surgery to remove the bladder entirely. Throughout the past several years, he's been in/out of the hospital numerous timesduring the year due to more complications. His body had taken a beating with the first round of cancer/chemo and his insides were pretty much messed up. The bladder cancer attributed to the kidney failure. Doctors at the Mayo are strategizing on how to keep the exisiting kidney intact and healthy while clearing up the infection where the failed kidney once was. His medical bills, copays, and monthly living expenses are piling up due to his inability to work. He currently holds two jobs but cannot return to work until he is healthy. Any donations received will help ease the burden and stress he's experiencing now. It's very hard for someone to ask for help, but unless you ask, no one can. I pray some of you will open your hearts and wallets, and send money to help my brother. My family, in general, has faced so much of this f&cking cancer and my father lost his battle in January 2010. Anyone who knows Stephen will tell you what an outstanding person he is, hard-working, funny, loving, caring, and always ready-willing-and able to help someone else in their time of need, even when he only has a few dollars to spare.
