We lost our husband and father today 9/27/2017 in our home as he has been under hospice care since 4/2017. He fought hard for as long he could. My dad was a true source of stength for me and living here with my parents since April has been a humbling and sometimes surreal experience. I'll never have a bond with anyone like I have with my parents.
I have been on FMLA almost every day during the last few weeks and it's been rough on us financially. Mom and I are left trying to sort through the financial obligations inevitably all people go through with the loss of a loved one.
My dad worked about every day for 40+ yrs at Ruppel Art & Paint Supply and taught me so much about integrity, doing what you love, and what it means to have a strong work ethic.
Dad loved Average White Band, Hall and Oates, The Bee Gees, Ed Sheeran, Michael McDonald, Florence and the Machine, and he and I shared a love of the band Jamiroqaui. He also had a great voice and was the cool dad doing "the worm" out on the dancefloor.
Anything you can donate would be so appreciated. He always wanted to win Publishers ClearingHouse and wished for the $1k a week for life payout. I think he would be tickled if he knew people were donating to help him and his family.
I miss you daddy and love you infinitely. Even in his darkest hours he never truly let anyone see how greatly he was suffering and used humor to make those around him more comfortable.
Thank you everyone for your visits & support since he's been home. We truly appreciate all your generosity.
