It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our co-founder, Chief Scientific Officer, and head of the Scientific Advisory Board, Dr. Stephen Lewis Minger, at the age of 68. Stephen was not only a brilliant scientist but also a dear friend, mentor, and inspiration to all of us at Bio-ReCell. His loss is deeply felt across our entire community.
Stephen's pioneering contributions to stem cell and gene therapy, human embryonic stem cell biology, and regenerative medicine have left an incredible mark on the field. His distinguished career included roles such as Senior Lecturer at King's College London, Global Director for R&D for Cell Technologies at GE Healthcare, and Chief Scientist at GE Healthcare Life Sciences. Most recently, he led SLM Blue Skies Innovations Ltd., offering expert insights into emerging healthcare technologies.
Stephen was passionately involved in scientific work until his very last days. His final response to our latest results was a joyful "Fantastic!" accompanied by raising both hands above his head in celebration. This moment epitomizes his unwavering dedication and enthusiasm for scientific discovery.
Our Goal
We have established the Stephen Lewis Minger Memorial Fund to honor his legacy. The primary goal of this campaign is to fund Stephen's funeral arrangements. Any remaining funds will be directed towards continuing his work in cell and gene therapy research.
