Hello friends and family!
As many of you know, I've spent the last 3.5 years dealing with a deviated septum. If the septum was deviated only slightly, I wouldn't need the surgery.
However, because the septum has deviated so far, I have a very small opening on both sides. The septum has given more space to the other side which has caused a structure called the turbinate, to grow. Both of my nostrils are nearly completely restricted resulting in lack of air flow.
This has had damaging effects on my health because my sleep is interrupted. I don't get the normal amount of oxygen throughout the day or at night (about 50% of what I should be getting), so I don't get the same quality of rest as someone else would with the same number of hours. I also can be more prone to shortness of breath when talking or eating because I can't breathe through my nose. (And the worst part is the constant sniffling! A deviated septum can affect nose moisture, leaving the nostrils dry and irritated. It's enough to drive anyone crazy and I'm nearly there. -_-)

How You Can Help
I scheduled my surgery for December 21st and I thought my insurance would cover more of the surgery than it's actually going to. Unfortunately, I won't be able to afford the whole surgery. I'm asking for about 60% of the total price of the surgery with the rest coming out of my pocket. I would need these funds 3 days before the surgery, by December 18. I know, short notice!
My insurance will end January 1st, so its important I get the surgery done before the end of the year.
I know Christmas can be a financially tough season with gifts and travel (and food... so much food), but if you have anything to spare to help me breathe better, I would be forever grateful!
