Stephanie (Stephy) Dorvinen

Hello everyone I hope this finds you all breathing effortlessly with the healthy lungs you were born with. By now you may have heard about, read about, or personally talked to Stephanie (Stephy) Dorvinen about her inability to breath. She was born with Cystic Fibrosis. A nasty nasty terminal disease with no cure except a lung transplant. Up until about a month ago Stephy was never "sick enough" to be considered for a lung transplant. Fortunately/unfortunately she is finally "sick enough" to be considered for a transplant. The hardship now (as if breathing as tho through a straw your whole life wasn't hard enough) is getting her well enough to be a recipient. If any of you are blessed enough to know this girl personally you will know she is a fighter!!! She NEVER complains about the crap lungs she's been given. Her only wish is she would feel well enough to be the active mother she needs to be to keep up with her 8 year old son.
What Stephy needs now is a place to stay once she is released from the hospital PRE transplant. To be a recipient of new lungs she needs to be with in a 4 hour radius of the hospital when she receives the call.
This will be a financial burden for her and her mom as they are from Houghton Michigan, more than 10 hours away. They need a place to stay and food and gas money as there are a lot of counseling appointments that they have to attend to learn all there is to learn about getting new lungs. To make matters worse, Stephy has a 19 year old brother who ALSO has cystic fibrosis and is also in and out of the Ann Arbor hospital more than we care to imagine. Their mother works full time and as you would imagine takes a lot of time off work to be with her sick kids. No work, no paycheck. She literally eats crackers and drinks coffee just to stretch her money because she never knows how long she's going to be at the hospital with each of their visits.
I can not tell you how humble these people are. They never complain, they don't ask for "hand outs" they amaze me with how they all just do their part to just survive until the next day. I'm asking from the bottom of my heart that you all would consider making a donation to help the Dorvinen's be able rent a place so Stephy can be as close as possible to the hospital when she receives the call. Both her and her mom need to continue to cover their living expenses in Houghton so they have a home to come home to. So every dollar to help them live near the hospital is greatly needed and sooo appreciated. This family just needs to focus on getting some new lungs, not stress about where the money for necessities is going to come from. Thank you for taking the time to read my humble request. I wish you all health and happiness.
