Marshall Cooke

On August 14,2018 a dear friend, Marshall Cooke, was diagnosed with a very rare childhood cancer called PNET (Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor) affecting less than 100 adults in America.

Marshall had been suffering for weeks and weeks with no answers. He and his family were transferred from their homes in Amarillo to a hospital in Dallas in desperate search of an answer.

Marshall’s underwent multiple painful spinal taps to remove extra spinal fluid that was causing compression on his brain. His heart couldn’t handle the pressure either and stopped functioning correctly.

After weeks of tests and no answers, a shunt was put in his brain to drain the excess fluid. The physicians in Dallas then tested the fluid, and determined the devastating reality that the real problem was an aggressive cancer.

Marshall’s family has been displaced and unable to steadily work at their jobs since June. His mother and wife have not left his side. Back home, Marshall has 3 children depending on him. His mother has a household depending on her as well.

Marshall has just begun the battle. He must undergo 6 weeks of radiation in Dallas and then face months of chemotherapy.

Marshall is fortunate to have medical insurance, however deductibles and out of pocket premiums have not been met.

Today Marshall and his family were given the news that $6500 has to be paid by Monday to continue treatment for the next 6 weeks.

This is a huge financial burden on the family not to mention the cost of a sanitary place to stay in Dallas and continuing to run 2 households in Amarillo.

Marshall has had 2 brain surgeries, spinal surgery to take a sample of the cancerous cell growth, abdominal surgery and 5 spinal taps to drain spinal fluids to relieve pressure on his brain.

Despite all of this he continues to fight and to smile when he is able and to worry over his family.

I’m asking for you to pray for Marshall as he goes to battle, pray for his strength when he’s weak and pray for his precious family as they hold him up every day and support him. I’m asking for you to lock hands with me and lift Marshal and his family up in prayer and if you feel led to give please do so, no amount is to small. Please pray that every dollar comes in to support this family and take this financial burden off them while they go to war over the next few months. Thank you so much in advance and blessings to you all
