Stephanie Carlson Fundraiser

Stephanie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in early 2018. She is a mother to 3 young children, and a Registered Nurse who works at Mainland Medical Center. She has been receiving intensive chemotherapy treatments through MD Anderson. Stephanie will be undergoing a mastectomy in November and will be unable to work during her recovery time. She does not qualify for FMLA to protect her job because she has worked for Mainland for less than a year. Stephanie was laid off when Bay Area Regional Hospital closed it's doors in May, laying off 900 employees without notice. She has not been able to save up enough PTO to pay her bills during her recovery due to her short employment with MMC.

As if that were not enough, Stephanie's husband, and father of her 3 small children, left her last month. He is not assisting with the bills or cost of caring for his 3 children during this process. Stephanie is having to retain legal counsel on her own, and pay for all of the living expenses of her 3 children on her single income which will come to a halt next month when she is unable to work. 

Stephanie is a kind soul who would help anyone that needed it. She is a strong woman and an excellent mother, she did not deserve the hand she has been dealt.
