Stem Cells for James!
Hi my name is Carly and like so many other families my life is affected by Autism.
My little brother James means everything to me. He is 22 years old and has been suffering with Autism since he was two. Im here to speak the words that he can't and ask for your help. 
James is language delayed, which means he is not able communicate with those around him, let alone hold a conversation. He is immature as he hasn't been able to socialise with people his own age, hindering his ability to develop normally. He's a big kid and he loves batman, spiderman and his motorbike. 
About two years ago my mum, who spends her life searching for some form of a cure; came across a new Stem Cell treatment for austitic kids. It has seen amazing results, kids that were self harming, not toilet trained and severly lauguage delayed, have started to make progress. Some even developing enough to be able to attend main stream school.
James is slowly starting to understand that hes not a child anymore. He has been more willing to communicate as he gets older but as we now know from a brain spec scan he had last year that he has bilateral hypofusion of the temporal lobes, which means he has low blood flow in the area responsible for language and comprehension.
There is a lot of research which supports umbilical cord stem cells which are adult stem cells that are not only safe to be administerd but hold the key to combatting this debilitating condition and potentially a cure for all those affected.
If James could talk, he might be able to have a chance at a normal life, all of the little things that we take for granted; he would be able to do. I might be able to have a conversation with my brother for the first time.
My parents worry so much about James's future & have devoted their life's to helping him. That is why I would like to help them be able to go to the stem cell institute in Panama for the treatment.
