STEM for the Streets

Founded on the belief that every child deserves an equal opportunity, STEM for the Streets shows kids that the world is bigger than their neighborhood and that they don't have to become a product of their environment.

STEM for the Streets is a student-led non-profit organization aimed at exposing underprivileged and minority youth in Washington, D.C. to STEM through hands-on lab experiments and engaging lesson plans accompanied by real scientists, doctors, and engineers. At STEM for the Streets we also focus on community, a meal is provided to every student so they may bond with others over food and a passion for math and science.

All contributions go towards materials for experiments and labs as well as meals for the children. STEM for the Streets is run by Co-CEOs Kevin Akers and Victor Del Carpio, COO Jaden Lucas-Rutherford, CFO Lukas Leijon, and Board of Directors Hrishik Rangaraju, Aditya Gude, and Jessica Aujla.
