STEM education initiative

We are a group of students from Brookline High School who are raising money to bring an incredible medical program- HMS MEDscience-to Codman Academy, a public charter school in Boston.   

HMS MEDscience is a STEM education initiative, in which students learn about the body both in the classroom and through hands-on experiences.   One day a week students travel to Harvard Medical School's campus to solve simulated medical emergencies, learn to diagnose a patient, motivating students to think critically, problem solve and work in teams to inspire a desire for further education and training in the STEM and health career professions.  In addition to hands on experiences at the simulation lab, MEDscience brings  a wide variety of speakers from the medical field to share about their profession, introducing a variety of jobs in the field of medicine.

 This past semester we have had the privilege to take this course, and want to bring it to new locations. We believe that your zip code shouldn't dictate whether or not this course is available to you.

 Our goal is to raise $5000 dollars to bring this class to Codman Academy Public Charter School.   Our hope is that once the school has hosted the class they will be able to continue to fundraise and support the program.  A donation of any amount helps so much and any additional money raised will be used to directly support the program and its implementation.
