Stem Cells for Eden

Eden Duffy was born at just 24 weeks. She had to fight to survive from the moment her sweet body took its first breath. If you saw her now at almost 2 years of age, you would meet a sweet baby who loves to smile, say hi, and get the attention of all those around her. She longs to move and be in the action at every moment, but unfortunately she has a disability called Cerebral Palsy, which was caused from her early complicated birth. Cerebral Palsy is brain damage that has caused her muscles to engage incorrectly and also has caused developmental delays.  Eden’s core and arm muscles seem to be most affected at this point, disabling her from sitting up on her on, crawling, and reaching out and holding things with her arms and hands. Our hope for Eden is that she can develop to her greatest potential. Ryan and Kristin Duffy, her parents, feel that the next best step toward reaching this potential is Stem Cell Therapy. Stem Cell Therapy would be beneficial to her because it can stimulate and repair damaged nervous tissue in both the brain and the spinal cord. This type of healing would be huge for her! It would give her the greatest chance to one day crawl and walk so that she can join in freely with all those around her, as she so obviously desires to do. Another beautiful thing about this procedure is that these cells come from the embryonic cord cells of new healthy babies that have been donated. New life, birthing new life. The world is an amazing and beautiful place!

As you can guess, this procedure is very expensive. The price includes the stem cell therapy, along with microcurrent treatment that is brought home to promote proper cell growth and production. We are hoping to raise $13,500. As most of you know, Ryan and Kristin have loved Eden with a sacrificial love that most of us can’t even comprehend. Our hope is that this Go Fund Me will help them to be able to move forward with this next step in Eden’s journey. Pray that the procedure would go smoothly, that her little body would take to the stem cells, and that the cells would reproduce and heal her body in miraculous ways that we can’t even begin to fathom.
