Stem cell therapy for Cole

We are working towards taking our, soon to be 13 year old son, to Panama for stem cell therapy. Cole, is diagnosed with Autism and is considered to be high functioning. We would like to take Cole to Panama as we believe that he will benefit from the treatment. Cole's DAN (defeat autism now) Dr. Anita Bratt, and others in his health care team, are confident that he will see benefits from this treatment. We are looking to travel to Panama in the late summer or early fall. This of course is depending on when he is scheduled for treatment and when we are able to save the adequate funds. We are still going through the application/assessment phase. The treatment is costly. We are doing our best to save as much as possible. The cost of the treatment is 16,825.00 USD plus all the travel expenses for our family to go.
Why Panama? Panama has the legislation in place to allow for stem cell therapy to used to treat Autism. Stem cell therapy is used in Canada but only for certain ailments. There is a long wait ahead for this type of treatment in Canada despite the success that it is having. This is explained more clearly in the clip, and subsequent podcast, in the link provided. We will be taking him to the Stem Cell Institute in Panama city. Dr. Neil Riordan runs the clinic with several other doctors. He is considered to be on the cutting edge of stem cell research. Cole is amazing, but really struggles with interpersonal relationships. It is really hard for him to make friends and has difficulty understanding what being a friend is. He really wants friends but is not really sure how make that happen. He is very intelligent and has a remarkable memory but struggles with inference and appreciating other perspectives. We are hoping to help him better deal with or possible overcome these difficulties.
The treatment consists of five days of IV treatment, in which large quantities of mesenchymal stem cells are put into his blood stream.
