Stem Cell Treatment for Pops

Facebook friends and family.. A lot of you are aware that some years ago I relocated to the Sunshine State not only for a better life, but more importantly to join my family and be with my father during his latter years. Many don't know that my dad retired early and made the move down south after being diagnosed with leukemia. At the time he was diagnosed the prognosis was bleak but a combination of groundbreaking medical advancements, great timing and countless prayers from his loved ones has allowed him to not only survive but ultimately be in remission all these years later.
The tradeoff of being on this leukemia treatment for some 15 years now has given way to him sustaining significant liver damage, otherwise known as cirrhosis of the liver. For those who don't know the liver is the filter of the body and you only have one. When the liver doesn't function it often threatens the functionality of other organs in the body. As of late my dad has been retaining fluids in his body because the liver is not filtering appropriately. This has caused the fluid to build up in his lungs resulting in shortness of breath, to the point where he has to make visits to the hospital twice a week in order to get the fluid drained.
At this point the prognosis is not necessarily positive. There has unfortunately been a trickle down effect where in the past few weeks I have witnessed him rapidly lose close to 30 pounds. He is on a low sodium diet in order to sustain the little functionality he has left in his liver and due to the fluid buildup he has a very limited appetite.
The silver lining in all this is that there is yet another groundbreaking treatment, namely stem cell therapy that has has extraordinary results in similar cases like my dad's. This therapy has been the most successful in cases of lung and liver damage but unfortunately is not covered by his medical benefits.
I am calling on as many people as I can to help me quickly raise the amount quoted to us in order to get this treatment applied as soon as possible. It pains me to even have to ask this but literally ANYTHING you can spare at this time is appreciated. I know a lot of people out there know my relationship with my father and I know even better how many of my friends have had their own precious moments with him. It is not a matter of whether or not I obtain these funds but how fast. I won't allow him to fall victim to something like this over a lack of funds. It's simply NOT ACCEPTABLE. I have put a lot of thought into this. I have over 1400 FB friends and I'm proud to say that most of you are not just acquaintances. Whether we last spoke yesterday, months ago or even years ago, a good percentage of us have shared some memorable times. If even half of my friends list donated $10 a piece my Pops could get this done rather quickly. I appreciate each and everybody who even took the time to read this. On behalf of myself and my family we appreciate any and all assistance, well-wishes and prayers. THANK YOU.
