Stella's Socks

Stella's Socks is a non-profit organization started by 13-year old (now 15), Stella Vaughan Verk and her dad, Jonathan. Together they distribute over 100,000 socks to homeless and homeless youth, in Los Angeles, every year.
In addition to providing socks to most major organizations in LA who service the homeless, Stella's Socks also hosts a monthly 'Sock Sesh', bringing together 10-20 young people every month to hand out socks on Venice beach OR Skid Row.
In addition, they regularly produce information + hygiene kit making events that expose youth to issues of homelessness.
Neither Stella nor Jonathan receive any money from donations. However, our operational costs are approx $12k/year. This money is spent transporting, distributing, storing, marketing, producing events and materials. Though we have volunteers, we DO take pride in PROPERLY compensating (*paying) the people who passionately work for us.
