Stella's Medical Fundraiser

Last year Stella aka “Stella Muffin” was diagnosed with Liver and Kidney failure, and has been in and out of partial remission, she was doing so well for most of the fall, and into this winter, but he health has taken a dive and in the last 6 weeks she has lost 5 lbs. more than 1/3 her weight.

The Kidney failure has increased but the livers have come back close to normal although her kidneys have been working so much  harder cleaning her blood, which without help she will never be strong enough to fight the oral infections and the spread of bacteria from the mouth to the week organs, not to mention the pain she is currently in. Another Dr. said she won’t show signs of oral pain even if it’s significant, and problems will progress if untreated, but she has been scratching her face to the point that she creates hot-spots that bleed. :(
We are planning a cat scan to see if it has anything to do with her spine or nervous system, as suggested by the doctors. and looked at by a specialist.

Banfield Hospital in NY...they estimate approximately $200-300 each extraction, which will include a cleaning, scaling with anesthesia. I will have to pay extra for any pre-testing because of her age which will include EKG, Labs and I can also decide if I want to pay extra for have her mouth X-rayed during the procedure...the extras will probably cost an extra $1000 we are not including here yet though. The Dr said the molars are removed in 2 pieces because they are large, and they need to cut the gums and suture the area closed. It could be more if there are more bad teeth, but we are doing our best.

Just from seeing the itemized hospital estimate, these services are not less than $5,7885 to $7,785, they say it may be more up to 1000 more if she needs more work or bloodwork done, but we hope this helps.

The veterinary Pet Insurance says they cover only $300 after we have been paying in $96 per month for the Banfield Health insurance…. This turns out to be a scam, and we are so upset that it covers nothing compared with what surgery ends up costing, stay away from Banfield, plus the estimates were much higher in general compared to our new doctors.
