<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/31123022_1530929926125801_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" alt="31123022_1530929926125801_r.jpeg" /> PAR has been asked to help Ms. Stella out.  Stella needs a Surgery that is quite costly and the owners are having a hard time with the money.  Piedmont Animal Rescue is willing to help with the surgery, however, we need a little help with some of the money.  Any help that you can give is greatly appreciated.   We are trying to help the owner obtain the surgery that Stella needs and enable her to stay in her home where she has lived her whole life.  We believe in trying to do everything possible to keep the pet in its home as long as it is a good loving home.  This is a great home for Stella, unfortunately, circumstances have hindered her mom and dad to not be able to afford the surgery financially.  If we all pitch in we can help out Ms. Stella to get better and stay with her Mom and Dad and Fur Siblings. Below is a Statement from her Mommy and Daddy: "We did a complete cruciate repair, but it has failed (which we were told was a possibility) so the surgery recommended is a TPLO. Unfortunately, after already spending $2,000 on this ACL knee surgery I do not have the $4,000 it will take for the surgery she is in need of. Stella was adopted by a family member from ICAS when she was a puppy. After close to a year I took her in because they stated they were unable to housebreak her. Come to find out she had an issue with her vulva causing her urine to build up causing continuous bladder infections which then caused her to urinate (without even knowing it) when she sat down, lied down or was relaxed. We opted to try supplements before surgery, and thus far (3 years later) she is doing well on these daily supplements. I did a DNA test on Stella awhile back to try and learn more about her breeds to help us for any future needs she may have. I discovered that she is inbred (most likely littermates that bred) as she is Rottie/Rottie/Chow Chow/ American Staffy on one side and Rottie/Rottie/Chow/Mixed breed on the other side of the family. Back in January (2018) we discovered her issue with her knee. She had the surgery in February (2018), but now she is holding her leg up about ½ of the time again. She has been doing a lot of crate rest, but it isn’t helping and I know the only option now is the surgery. Stella is a FANTASTIC dog and we adore her. She has been a joy to our addition and she is the 1st non-senior dog in my household in nearly 12 years (we have a 14-year-old, 13-year-old, and a 12 ½-year-old dog). I feel like I have failed her as a pet owner because I cannot give her what she needs most at this time. Being a Rescue Coordinator I have caught myself judging owners before and I fear I may be judged as well. At 4 years old Stella is young and still full of MANY, MANY, MANY more years to live! I am open to placing her into a rescue if that is my only option, but it would break my heart. It would also break my heart having her and not being able to meet her needs. What I am seeking is help.
