Stella Adler Theater Intensive

Friends & Family,

I am over stoked to announce that I have been accepted into a 5-Week Self-Generated Theater Intensive at Stella Adler's Studio of Acting in NYC this June/July! 

The Program is called Training the Actor-Warrior,  "intended for a new generation of theatre artists who yearn to upend tradition and generate new work and new ways of working."

Stella Adler Defines - Actor Warriors - as artists who recognize the power of craft to contribute to positive social transformation, use their craft and art in service to communities, and empower themselves by creating their own work, without being used by external forces such as industry and money standards.

The program is focused on devising original ensemble and solo work ~ a pursuit that has become central to my work in theater arts. In the past year, I co-founded a devised theater collective SoulTalk, produced an evening-length show Unravel: A State of Emergence, performed original solo and ensemble work at Inferno Theater’s Diasporas Festival and Max 10 Santa Cruz, and developed lots of content waiting to be shared.

A little more about me:
I am a company member of Oakland theater company Ubuntu Theater Project, and was nominated for Best Featured Actress in the 2018 SF Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Awards for my performance as Lucky in Ubuntu's production of Waiting for Godot. Anytime I'm not rehearsing a play, I'm writing, reading, dancing, house-managing for arts & culture events in San Francisco, and exploring the art and mythos of performance and the human body and voice. See me in the upcoming film Sorry to Bother You (written & directed by Boots Riley), set for international release July 6, 2018.

What I'm Working on Now and What's Ahead:
I am currently developing a dance dialogue duet on the changing nature of love, and later this summer I will be diving into developing and producing another original evening-length show with SoulTalk. I feel the momentum building, now let’s bring these visions to life!
