This started as a small dream but it now has gotten big!!
Here is my story.
I have been dreaming of competing in dressage with one of my mother's Arabians since the 90's, when fellow Vermonter, Carol Lavell, went to the Olympics and won a medal which the Americans very rarely do. Then Jane Savoie after that. The Europeans have been doing dressage for hundreds of years. Over the years I've gone through some very serious heartbreak when I've lost my partners to serous medical conditions.
Move ahead to 2007 when little 3/4 Arabian princess, Profits Sweet Steps was born. Little did I know I was that much closer to my dream. Move to 2011 her first year under saddle, The dream is coming true!!! 2012 we competed at a local schooling series and won a year end reserve championship. And that was without any regular lessons.
2013 was the start of our serious ambitions!! Our goal for 2013 was to show at some USDF/Arabian Class A shows and qualify for the Regional Championships which are only 3.5 hours away versus the usual 5-6 hours away. We competed at some open breed USDF shows against warmbloods and held out own placing second in one class. We qualified for the Regionals but just missed Top 5 by placing 6th. I had hoped some day we'd quailfy for the Arabians Sport Horse Nationals and/or the USDF Region 8 Championships.
We'd love to show that a small town horse and rider can go big time.
This will also show everyone that Arabians can do it and that my mother's years of hard work with her breeding program has paid off.
2015 update. Regionals are back in West Springfield, massachusetts this year. At our first Arabian show of the year we qualified for Regional and the Sport horse Nationals!! We also got high score training level.

Another 2015 update. Regional Championships we got a Top 5 placing and a Reserve Championship!!! So we need your help now to get this small town Vermont girl and her horse to the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals in Raliegh, NC this year!!
