The Rebirth of Steel City!
The dynamic duo of Laura Vernola and Ed Simpson have purchased Steel City Coffeehouse and Music Venue, located at 203 Bridge St. in Phoenixville, PA. The couple plans to continue the Steel City tradition of great coffee, delicious food and incredible live entertainment. This is the first establishment that the couple have opened together after successfully operating a boutique marketing firm together for the past three years. “When we recently heard that Steel City was closing its doors, we, along with many others in the community, were very upset. Instead of watching a beloved fixture of the town disappear, we decided to do something about it.” Says Laura.

The History of Steel City Coffeehouse
Steel City Coffeehouse has been a Phoenixville staple since the late 90's and has hosted many local and national acts, including the busiest Open Mic in town on Thursday nights. The purpose of Steel City is to provide an inspiring and comfortable space where culture and diversity thrive. It is our goal that Steel City be the "go to" place for traditional, contemporary and avant garde entertainment in the greater Philadelphia area. From local and international singer-songwriters and bluegrass bands to improvisational theater, author lectures, magic shows and independent film festivals, Steel City is on the cutting edge of original music, film, thought and theater. We will always be looking for everything under the sun to bring people of all ages, cultures and tastes together.
