Our barista staff has put together a virtual tip jar, and are asking our customers, regulars, fans, and supporters to contribute as much as they can.
Due to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, our staff are not able to work their usual hours in our cafes. The result of this is a loss in regular salary (as we move to short work guarantees for our team to cover most of their basics), but also in the tip money which our service staff counts on each month as part of their wages.
We’d like to thank all of our service staff, who worked diligently through the uncertainty over the last few weeks. The most important thing for us right now is to do everything that we can in order to support them, but we need your help.
Five Elephant has always aimed to be an involved part of the communities we have been operating within, and our baristas have been at the heart of those connections to each neighbourhood and its residents.
Now that they are forced to remain at home, and lose a significant portion of their income for the near future, we’re calling on our communities to help us ensure that they can #stayathome without facing growing financial challenges.
Please consider tipping your local baristas virtually, just as you would when visiting our shops not too long ago. All proceeds will go directly and exclusively to our café staff members - it’s like giving them a hug without the touching part.
