Help us start up a community Radio Station

Donation protected
Inspire Radio Online is a registered Not for Profit organisation that will be broadcasting live 24/7 from its home in Rockingham, Western Australia.

We need help to start up this new community based radio station. Our station aims to promote positive Health and Wellbeing, covering inspirational stories of Hope and Recovery, whilst also talking to community service providers about what help is available and how to access it. In the current climate, there can be no better time to start up a Health and Wellbeing station that will broadcast the facts, not the scare stories.

We will be playing a range of awesome music as well as showcasing local talent. On weekdays from 6pm - 9pm we will be inviting local musicians into our studios to perform live and share some of their journey with our listeners. We will also be broadcasting live from the Rockingham Shopping Centre once a month, giving young people an opportunity for exposure. We have also had interest from local Schools and Youth groups, wanting to work us and their students.

We are very excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for us, having been meeting up with incredible individuals and services for the last few months, forging connections in the community that will help us bring current up to date content 24/7. We have also been blown away by the enthusiasm we have felt in the community and the many new members we get every day to our Facebook group.

We have got most of the equipment we need but still have a way to go. We are also looking out for a place to call home. Our station aims to be an inclusive Disability and LGBTQI+ friendly place where people can feel safe to be themselves without fear of judgement. For that to happen, we need to create the right environment and this is where we need help.

We need to find the right space with good public transport links that we can build our community around. Once we find our new home, we will need to furnish it so we make the space welcoming and calming for the many people that will utilise the station.

Alongside the station, we will be running a variety of community engagement programmes such as

First and Second Click - basic and advanced computer training for older people
Board Games Nights - involving local community groups to run socially inclusive board games nights
Mental Health First Aid training - Mental Health awareness training courses
Help with resumes, confidence building, interview skills and selection criteria
A regular Justice of the Peace service
