Hope for the chance of starting a family

One of the hardest things about being a parent is watching your kids hurt and not being able to fix it.  My son and his wife have been struggling with infertility for the last few years. They have been told that her only chances of conceiving  their own child will be through in vitro fertilization. She has had several surgeries, and 6IVF cycles. With each consecutive IVF cycle, the success rate increased due to finding the right doses of fertility drugs. Attempt number 6 was a success but sadly, they lost their daughter in the second trimester. Her doctors feel that this is the best time for them to attempt again. Recently Katie had another surgery and they had to remove her second fallopian tube. Now that both are gone, their only option to conceive is thru IVF.  Unfortunately, they were only covered for six cycles thru insurance. Having a child is such a gift, and for many an easy one to achieve. For some, like my children, it is not.

    For those familiar with IVF, the costs for each cycle varies. Medications are not included with the price of the actual procedure. They were quoted anywhere from $7,000 to 9,000 for each cycle. If they have to  pay for two cycles, the fertility clinic will donate the third cycle for free. It is hard to ask for help but sometimes you just need to rely on the kindness of friends, family and even strangers. We as a family, would so appreciate any donation you are able to give. The money raised will be given to Bill and Katie, to be used towards them having a child. When they are successful, any money leftover will be donated to another couple who is facing the same dilemma.
