Help SFS Doula Program get 501c3 Status

Start From Seed (SFS) is a non-profit organization that empowers and strengthens families during the childbearing year by providing comprehensive doula services, regardless of income level.
SFS delivers specialized pregnancy, labor, and postpartum doula services to women living below the poverty level and have complex health conditions proven to adversely affect maternal and child outcomes, including diabetes, hypertension, smoking, and depression. SFS clients additionally face language barriers, substance abuse, physical/sexual abuse, and teen pregnancy.
Specifically, services include prenatal education, and labor and postpartum support, with the objectives of increasing education, preventing high risk infant and maternal outcomes, and increasing access to appropriate medical and community services.
For the past two years, SFS has been under the umbrella of
501(c)3 WNC Health Advocates in Asheville, NC. Though we are forever grateful for the support from WNCHA, it is time to apply for our own 501(c)3 status.
SFS has no secure funding at this time and has relied heavily on donations and fundraisers to help get us by. Once we have our own 501(C)3 status, we will have the opportunity to begin applying for more grants. The process of applying for 501(c)3 status is quite expensive and we are using gofundme as a tool to raise money for the costs. Your donations are tax-deductable and we can provide a receipt upon request. The breakdown of fees are below:
$60 for our Articles of Incorporation
$850 for the 501(c)3 application
$500 for lawyer fees
$80 gofundme fees
TOTAL: $1,490.00
