Starry Skies***Lenawee Horses

Starry Skies Equine Rescue and Sanctuary has intaken the 29 horses and donkey seized and then forfeited in the Lenawee County animal seizure that involved not only theses horses, but over 200 dogs as well.  Of the 29 horses, 3 are stallions that will need special housing until they are able to be gelded.  2 mares have foals at their side, and to date we have been able to ultrasound and confirm 6 mares in foal.  5 still need to be ultrasounded.  With the new additions and our regular rescue residents, our daily feed costs for will be approximately $350 a day ( 3 bags of strategy, 20 square bales, 5 round bales).    That is not including bedding, farrier, vet and miscellaneous supplies.   Our $42,000 goal will provide for 4 months of feed for our residents.   Please consider helping----these horses are worth it!
