Adoption Wrap Up

Amber and I for several years had kept hearing from God that you can make a difference but like many we just didn't know how. Amber had heard this story of the starfish, much prayer, and we knew we had a calling. From there we have always tried to impact the kingdom one person at a time. We have blindly obeyed when called upon. And God has blessed so many lives through our obedience to him.
In 2013, we visited Florida with our close friends when they were picking up their second adopted child. On the way there we discussed possibly adopting but knew the expense was great. And honestly we just began to pray that if it was God's will then he would rely on him to provide the way.
Little did we know how quickly God was acting then. The details of what happened between our return from that trip and June of 2014 are pretty amazing as we look back. We're also going to spare some of the details because the lives involved mean very much to us.
But in June of 2014, God placed another Starfish on our doorstep in the form of a six week old little boy. He is our great nephew who has always been a part of our family from day one. But in just a few short weeks will officially become part of the Hudson family through adoption. See you have to watch what you pray because God answers prayers but does it in ways we don't understand sometimes. We have calculated this little boys date of conception to be around the same time of that trip to Florida when we first began to pray about adoption.
Everything we have done has always to the best of our abilities has been in obedience to what God wants. This is where you can come in. As I mentioned we are within a few short weeks of the adoption although that day is not final but we do have our adoption presentation with CPS this week. So that could mean adoption is within a week or so of that. We have some last minute expenses revolving around the finalization of adoption mainly attorney, court fees, etc. But over the last two years we have stepped out without any assistance requested. We can use any amount that you feel lead to donate. And all funds will go to finalization of his adoption.
If God chooses to bless us over this goal amount we have a stretch goal of being able to celebrate at Disney World with our little starfish as a family in November. Oh how this boy loves Mickey!! For those of you that choose to donate our love and prayers will forever be with your family because you helped us secure him with our home.
After the adoption is complete we will finally be able to post pictures and share the memories this little boy has already given us. We have committed also to helping share our experience with an information session on fostering and adopting. Because just like that beach there are a whole lot more starfish that need our help. Details of that information session will be provided later.
