My name is Nabi. I have been living in Australia for over 11 years, but I am still not recognised as a refugee. This means I have no right to work, no Medicare, and no support from the government.
Every day is a struggle just to survive. I cannot work legally, so I rely on small donations from church groups and kind people in the community. I live in a single rented room and constantly worry about how to pay for food, rent, electricity, and other basic needs.
At times I have been forced into dangerous and underpaid farm work, which left me injured and even more vulnerable. Without proper rights, I cannot access healthcare, and this has put my health and wellbeing at serious risk.
Despite all of this, I am determined not to give up. I want to be recognised as a genuine refugee, not only for myself but also to stand for others who are trapped in the same situation of injustice.
Your support will help me cover my daily living expenses—rent, bills, and food—so that I can continue my advocacy journey to demand recognition and dignity for myself and for others like me.
Even the smallest donation will make a huge difference. If you are unable to give, please consider sharing this page so more people can hear my story.
Thank you for standing with me in this fight for safety, dignity, and justice.
