 Hello. My name is Tina Jones. I am making this go fund me for the strongest person I know, my son Shawn. Aka The Dadinator, Aka Ravelli. Let me say that Shawn has been fighting STAGE 4 CANCER for ten long years. They diagnosed him with a rare terminal cancer called PMP in Jan. 2017. He has always had health problems. One of which is ulcerative colitis, which is very similar to Chrons disease. So he is no stranger to stomach pain. But when his stomach was pertruding out so much he went to the hospital to see the problems. After an x-ray he was told his appendix is swollen and he needs it to be removed with surgery immediately. As they were prepping him for surgery. A lady doctor that was going to perform the surgery started grilling Shawn and asking him all types of questions. Shawn was very honest with her. She then asked if he was taking all of his IBS meds. He informed her that he was but it seemed to make his stomach worse so he stopped to see if that helped. She then used that information to say she was not going to do surgery on my son. Making it seem like he doesn't take his pills correctly and she is not doing the surgery despite the fact the appendix was clearly about to rupture. So she sent him and home and he went back to work thinking his appendix must be fine. We'll obviously it wasn't fine and it soon after ruptured. And it was filled with a very aggressive rare cancer called Pseudomyxoma Peritoei (PMP) or "jelly belly". The cancer quickly spread throughout his organs and he was given six months to a year to survive since when they found out , it was already in stage 4. He has went through everything a man can go through. MOAS surgery. Which is an acronym for "mother of all surgeries" a grueling surgery where they removed over a hundred tumors, his appendix, spleen, gallbladder, pancreas, stomach lining, and part of his large intestine. Also has the hipec surgery where they spray a type of chemo directly in his stomach. He went from 215 pounds down to 140. Finally after about 5 months in the hospital he was allowed to go be with his kids. Not even a week later he started experiencing the worst stomach pain imaginable and would just cry for days and throwing up non stop. So finally called an ambulance and was rushed to the hospital only to be told they don't see a problem. Well after throwing up non stop and having, 8 different scans done they finally spotted the problem. Scar tissue and another cancerous tumor was blocking his stomach from working and they did ANOTHER surgery. Still not even healed from the last one. He started his chemotherapy in February 2000, and has had roughly 130 chemo treatments which is an insane amount of weeks to be sick. Besides that he is the best father I know. He loves his children more than anything and raised them as a single father. Also he has a 16 year old girl that he considers his daughter and takes care of her financially also. His goal is to pay off his house and fix it up. It was in very bad condition and he has been slowly trying to fix it up. Fixing the furnace, appliances, the outside septic pipes, and still much more to do. Even while sick Shawn still took care of his elderly grandfather also along with his kids. Imagine being so sick someone should be taking care of you but yet you are taking care of everyone else. Shawn is also a believer in Jesus Christ as his savior and prays daily. He attributes his ability to live with stage 4 terminal cancer for this long to sincerely praying to God and begging him to let him watch his kids grow up, begging God for mercy and to be able to watch his kids grow up more. He also helps take care of his sick girlfriend financially also. He has lived off a small disability check for years and years making something out of nothing. Most years it barely being able to pay his rent let alone support a big family. But he never complained and always kept his faith in God.. The last go fund me was a huge blessing to him and this time he wants to do things differently. For example GFM was set up to get deposited daily. This time he has it set up to weekly and wants to eventually set it to monthly. So when money does his his account he will be able to do more with it. Shawn is such a generous person almost to a fault. When people are as giving as him others tend to take advantage. Well this time as his mother I am not letting that happen. He owes 14 k on his car and roughly 40 k left on his house. So the goal with this go fund me is pay that debt off so his disability check doesn't dissappear almost immediately every month to all these bills. Whether he is paying for his medication, car payment, car insurance, phone bills for him and his children, electric, water, mortgage, taxes, etc ... this can definitely lighten the blow for him. Shawn has been known to spend his last on children. Even ones that aren't his. If there's a child in need he makes it happen. I have seen him buy school clothes and shoes for less fortunate neighbor kids by his house, send multiple packages to friends kids with clothes and whatever else he can give. If anyone deserves a blessing it's him. As his mother he means the world to me and I think the world should know my son. If you follow his social media you can't help but see how genuine he is. He's not perfect, but he would give the shirt off his back to anyone. Especially children. Please don't think. Any amount is too low. Every dollar helps. Shawn has never been on a vacation, never gotten to take his kids to a beach vacation. So many things I hope he gets to do before he passes. Anyway I just want to end this by saying thank you to everyone that loves and supports my son. Nothing makes me happier than for people to see the good in him that I see.
