<div>Hi, our names are Scott and April Kincaide, and we are organizing this fundraiser for our <strong>great friend Mark LaVeque</strong>. If you know Mark, he is a strong, stubborn, and proud man who rarely asks for help.

<div>Mark's fight began in early 2020 with a need for a kidney and pancreas transplant. After a little over 2 years of being on a waitlist, Mark finally received a donor and received both the kidneys and pancreas at Cleveland Clinic in February of 2022.

</div>

<div>Mark's lifelong struggle with diabetes led to several health issues throughout his life, including the loss of his right eye and causing a loss of vision of 75 percent in Mark's left eye.

</div>

<div>On September 22nd, 2025, Mark had an object fall and pierce through his glasses, stabbing into his only good eye (left), which resulted in immediate surgery of his eye, leading to the loss of Mark's vision. Mark was supposed to receive treatment for his eye after the surgery but could not receive his treatment.

<div>On October 31st, 2025, Mark was at home and felt like he had heartburn. After 5 days of discomfort, Chris, Mark's wife, took Mark to the hospital, resulting in finding out that Mark had a massive heart attack. Due to the damages caused by the heart attack and Mark's transplants, no doctors or hospitals would perform the surgery, resulting in Mark having to wait for a room to open in Cleveland Clinic. Mark could only go to Cleveland Clinic because that was where his transplant doctors were.

<div>Finally, after 10 days in the hospital, a room opened up, and Mark was transported to Cleveland Clinic.

</div>

<div>Due to the wait, Mark started having other major health issues, which resulted in Mark going into code blue status, and doctors were able to bring Mark back to life.

</div>

</div>

<div>After 8 days, Mark received a quadruple bypass, plus an ablation, and mitral valve modification.

</div>

</div>

<div>Due to all the waiting and complications, Mark's kidneys took a hit, and Mark is back on dialysis until the kidney recovers.

</div>

<div>After 36 days in the hospital with his loving wife Chris along his side every day and night, Mark was finally transferred back to Michigan by ambulance to Corewell Health Rehabilitation Center, where he will rebuild his strength in his entire body. At this moment, Mark is unable to walk, and his strength is very weak throughout his body.

<div>After rehabilitation, Mark has to begin his journey to restore his eyesight.

</div>

<div>We are asking for donations, no matter how big or small, to help support Mark on his road to recovery.
