<div>Many of you have been touched by Jose Enrique Cadena Hernandez in one way or another. He now needs our support as he is facing a medical crisis at this time which will force him to be in a long term recovery and possibly change his lifestyle thereafter.

<div>Three major organs are currently at risk--kidneys, heart and lungs. He is experiencing the fight of his life right now. He is in North Carolina away from home and hospitalization is anticipated to be at least a month with therapy to follow.

<div>6/15/25: Jose has been relocated to an advanced hospital that has specialists to address and remediate his multiple conditions. He has received a nephrostomy procedure that will help reroute excess fluid around blockage so it exits body until they can understand what is causing blockage and treat it appropriately. His heart rate and heartbeat have become more stable with short periods of spikes. He is still heavily sedated and continues to require a breathing tube.

<div>6/17/25 Jose continues to have fluid accumulation in his left lung from pneumonia. Dr.’s are going to aspirate the fluid on the left side so that his lung can get more oxygen and then be one step closer to removing the breathing tube so he can be more comfortable and breath in his own entirely. They are also giving him mucus thinners to break up the congestion. His kidneys don't require dialysis so they will not do that today. He remains on pain meds to get him to rest for a bit since he thrashes around. He is breathing well and is only requiring 30% oxygen assistance.

<div>6/17/25. José continúa con acumulación de líquido en el pulmón izquierdo debido a una neumonía. Los médicos aspirarán el líquido del lado izquierdo para que su pulmón reciba más oxígeno y así estar un paso más cerca de retirarle el tubo respiratorio para que pueda respirar por sí solo y esté más cómodo.
