Support Dan Ranalli’s Road to Recovery
On November 10, 2025, our dear friend Dan Ranalli suffered a severe, life-altering stroke. Thanks to the incredible medical team at Resurrection Medical Center, Dan’s life was saved. While this was only the beginning of a long and difficult journey, it was a miracle that gave his family hope.
Dan is currently continuing his recovery at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, where he is working hard every day and making meaningful progress. The road ahead, however, remains challenging. The stroke left Dan physically handicapped and unable to return to work, and his recovery will require time, therapy, and unwavering support.
Dan is a lifelong resident of Norwood Park and someone who has always taken pride in giving his all—to his family, his work, and his community. He is a 30-year member of the Ceramic Tile & Terrazzo Union Local 21 and a proud United States Navy veteran. Anyone who knows Dan knows his loyalty runs deep—especially when it comes to his beloved Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
Standing by Dan’s side through every step of this journey is his wife, Katie. Katie, an X-ray tech at Resurrection Medical Center, has been Dan’s rock—advocating for him, encouraging him, and showing incredible strength during the most difficult days. Their daughter, Shannon, a graduate of Resurrection High School and Illinois State University, has also been a constant source of love and support for both of her parents.
As Dan prepares for the next phase of recovery, there are significant financial challenges ahead. His home will require major remodeling to make it accessible and safe for his new physical needs. In addition, the family is facing the loss of Dan’s income during his recovery and beyond.
This fundraiser has been created to help ease that burden—covering the cost of necessary home modifications and providing financial support while Dan focuses on healing. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page and keeping Dan and his family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated.
Dan has always shown up for others. Now, we have the opportunity to show up for him.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support.
