<div>On August 30, 2026, at 11:33 PM, John Francis “Cornflower” Coughenour’s beloved mother, Barbara, passed away after a long and difficult journey through multiple strokes, dementia, and hospice care.

<div>For nearly five years, John put much of his own life on hold to become his mother’s primary caregiver.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Some of you know John simply as Barbara’s son, a family member, or a friend. Others know him professionally as Cornflower, am internationally touring musician, performer, and artist who has spent much of his life creating music and bringing people together through concerts, festivals, workshops, and community experiences.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since his mother’s first stroke in December 2021, John’s life became increasingly centered around her care. As her needs grew, his ability to tour, perform, record and release music, take on consistent work, and earn a reliable income became increasingly limited.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During the final months of Barbara’s life, caregiving became essentially around-the-clock. <strong>John was there.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Through the strokes. The hospitalizations. The rehabilitation stays. The cognitive decline. The loss of mobility. Hospice. The sleepless nights. And ultimately, through the final days and moments of his mother’s life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now, after nearly five years of organizing his life around keeping his mother safe and cared for, that chapter has come to an end.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And another difficult chapter begins.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>John is grieving the loss of his mom while simultaneously facing the enormous task of rebuilding a life and livelihood that have largely been on hold for almost five years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This fundraiser is intended to give him some breathing room and a bridge into what comes next.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your support will help John cover basic living expenses while he grieves and navigates his mother’s affairs, regain financial stability after years without consistent work or income, and begin rebuilding his work as Cornflower, a musician, artist, performer, and self-employed creative.
</div>

</div>
<div>It will give someone who spent nearly five years caring for his mother the runway to find his footing again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>John has spent much of his life creating community, sharing music, helping others, and showing up for the people he loves.
</div>

</div>
