Standing Rock, North Dakota

I am going to Standing Rock, North Dakota to support the water protectors. They are making a stand against the Energy Transfer corporation that is building an oil pipeline illegally across their land. This pipeline has the potential to pollute water for millions of people downstream as well as the indigenous people on the Sioux reservation who depend on the Missouri River as their sole source of water to survive, This cannot happen. They are calling for anyone who can, to come and make a stand with them. For Clean Water, For Justice. I am leaving Sacramento, California Friday, November 18th and will arrive in Bismarck, North Dakota - then travel to Standing Rock untill Sunday, November 27th. I will spend Thanksgiving week with all of the relatives taking a stand against the North Dakota Access Pipeline. While I am there, I will keep an online video log for my 4th grade class. See, water is our theme for the year, We are also focusing our unit of study on the indigenous people of California. California is currently in drought and water is a major issue for the indigenous here, as well as the farmers in the Central Valley. This is an important mission, for my students will experience what it means to take a stand for justice, the water protectors will get additional support as I am calling for others who are interested to join with me from Sacramento to help represent Californians who care about clean water and indigenous land rights, and we will get the mainstream local media to cover what is happening in North Dakota.  Please support me with a donation to cover airfare, and car rental in North Dakota.
