<div>If you know me, you know that service has been a major part of my life.

<div>Long before I began my career in public service, I found purpose in helping others through 4-H, working as a special education aide, and coaching young swimmers.
</div>
<div>At just 40 years old, I have spent much of my adult life answering the call to service as both a law enforcement officer and an Army National Guard officer. Simply put, when people needed help, I showed up.
</div>
<div>Recently, my life changed in a way I never expected. After months of tests, appointments, and uncertainty, I was diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive disease that affects the nerve cells responsible for controlling muscles. As of today, there is no cure.
</div>
<div>Like many people who receive this diagnosis, I was faced with two choices. I could focus only on what ALS might take away, or I could focus on what I can still do to make a difference.
</div>
<div>I chose the second option.
</div>
<div>That decision is the reason for this fundraiser.
</div>
<div>This campaign is not for my personal medical expenses. Instead, my goal is to support ALS research and help fund the work being done to develop better treatments and, ultimately, find a cure.
</div>
<div>All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), a nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to ALS research and the development of effective treatments and a cure.
</div>
<div>My hope is that the funds raised through this campaign will help researchers develop better treatments and ultimately find a cure—not only for me, but for every person and family facing this disease now and in the future.
</div>
<div>Throughout my life, I have been fortunate to be part of communities that believe in showing up when people needed help. As a law enforcement officer and Army National Guard officer, I have seen firsthand the impact that people can have when they come together for a common purpose.
</div>
<div>Today, I am asking for that support once again—not just for me, but for the countless families affected by ALS.
</div>
<div>Every dollar raised through this campaign will go directly toward ALS research through ALS TDI. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is another meaningful way to support the scientists and researchers working every day to change the future of this disease.
