On Monday June 5th Stacy B suddenly became unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital.
Stacy suffered from a brain aneurysm that ruptured and caused severe bleeding in the stem of her brain. Subsequently following an MRI Stacy was diagnosed with Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), which is more commonly known as lupus.
Lupus is a devastatingly debilitating autoimmune disease in which one’s immune system, mistakenly attacks healthy normal tissues and organs in the body. The immune system is meant to fight bacteria, germs and viruses by producing antibodies that protect our bodies from invaders. With lupus the immune system cannot tell the difference between the body’s healthy tissues and foreign invaders, as such it creates autoantibodies that attack and destroy healthy tissues. Lupus is a cruel, unpredictable and life threatening disease and has greatly affected the life of not only Stacy but her family and four young girls.
Presently Stacy is now in a coma, with little brain activity she is fighting for her life.There is currently no cure for her condition.
Stacy is a single mother of four beautiful girls, Keyanna 15, Keneisha 14, Elisha 9 & Rushelle is 5. The girls are currently staying with family however in the absence of their mother and primary caregiver they will be in need of basic necessities such as food, personal hygiene products, bus fare and clothing.
While we understand that no amount of money can come close to stopping the pain this tragedy has caused or change their mothers current condition during this time of uncertainty, however we believe that any monetary donation can help in supporting them with their day to day needs.
