On Saturday March 11, 2018, on her way home from work, my mother Magalie Merisca was hit head on by another driver. The near fatal crash resulted in her receiving life saving medical care at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Joliet, IL. Still in critical condition, she suffers from serious injuries, including an internal brain bleed, a broken neck, spine, and ribs, requiring significant current and future treatment.

Maggie is a hard working and caring individual and, while small statured, she leaves a big impression on all those around her. A dedicated mother of three daughters, she prides herself on working hard to make sure they are taken care of.


Maggie has always provided the best loving care for her patients. When she awoke from her coma, her first concern wasn’t for her own heath, but instead for those in her care. My mother is a loving healthcare provider to all her patients, but now she needs help in regards to her own care. And we could use assistance to provide it. The road to recover will be difficult and as the sole provider for her family, resources are limited.

This Fund is established to help support the cost of medical expenses so that my mother can rest instead of worrying about bills. We are in desperate need of financial help for my mom’s medical care, accommodations, and housing.
