<div>While employed by UL Solutions as a Social Compliance Auditor, I was tasked with the responsibility of auditing manufacturing sites of major retailers throughout the United States and Canada for the existence of, among other things, child labor. On December 28, 2023 an article was published in The New York Times titled “They’re Paid Billions to Root Out Child Labor in the U.S. Why Do They Fail?” This article detailed my employer’s systematic inability to accurately identify and record examples of safety and labor violations. As a result of my speaking out, my employer terminated me on July 3, 2024 and filed a lawsuit against me the same day.
