When I heard about the tragedy that struck Sri Lanka from half the world away I was in shock and at a loss for what to do. My name is Matthew Abeysinghe and I'm Sri Lankan. I currently live in the United States but am trying to help out in anyway that I can. I urge my friends from all over the world to help out as much as they can, after all we are all human. Many of the victims of the attack were not just Sri Lankan but tourists from all over the world. We are raising money to help the victims of the 6 bombings across Sri Lanka. So far in the bombings more than 200 people are known to have died with another 500 being injured. All of the money raised from this will be given to the proper authorities to help with the distribution of medical equipment, food, clean water and clothes. I will be sending this money directly to the General Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka who have reached out over the news in Sri Lanka and over social media asking for any donations of the supplies listed above or money to buy those supplies. The money sent to the General Hospital in Sri Lanka will be used for this purpose. Every little bit of money counts, it's not just the big donations that matter! Even the smallest donation can and will change a person life.
More bombs have been found all over the country, some have been diffused, others have gone on with the most recent going off near BIA (Airport). Authorities are still searching for those responsible and for more victims of the incidents.
The death toll has reached over 290 people with the total number of injured people rising to over 700 people.
